In what seems like a dramatic discovery, a shop owner dealing with selling of imported rice has called the attention of neighbours to what looks like a chemically induced rice, allegedly imported from neighbouring country known for rice smuggling.
According to an eye witness, the woman said she has been observing the unusual situation when one of her customers brought sample of the half cooked rice, which was still very hard to touch. The customer narrated " i first thought the rice has expired, but after almost an hour of cooking it again, the plastic touch i felt on the rice made me to understand that it is definitely the fake rice i have been hearing about. This is my first time experiencing this". The syndicate expressed shock that despite all efforts by the Nigerian customs and the local people to curb the illegal act.
There has been speculations about adulterated items in most places especially villages and remote areas. This has already raised concerns among communities and health specialists says we must be on the watch to avoid occurence of food poisoned ailments as a result of consuming unhygienic foods. The public is hereby alerted to ensure proper scrutiny of the consmables at all times.
