Arsenal have reached their second ever Champions League final; the achievement comes a day after Manchester City gave them initiative in the Premier League title race, after they were luckily held to a draw by Everton.
The final whistle went and the Emirates Stadium exploded. Arsenal made it to the Champions League final. The team coach Mikel Arteta ran onto the pitch, colliding with his Arsenal players – who were all jumping in a huddle.
“I’ve never felt that in a stadium before,” said the Arsenal manager afterwards. These streets had never seen scenes like it.
What a difference a few weeks make. After months of being seeped in nervousness – which threatened to destabilize Arsenal’s season – the stadium was alive again.
Arsenal will face either Bayern Munich or Paris St Germane in the final of the competition taking place at Budapest later this month. The gunners secured the final place ticket after defeating Athletico Madrid by a lone goal at the emirate stadium last night.
