Two leading aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Oyo state, Distinguished senator Fatai Omotayo Buhari, Adebayo Adelabu and Teslim Kolawole Folarin were apparently absent today as the party unveil its campaign office in Ibadan.
The commissioning of the campaign office was slated for the second day visit of the APC national chairman Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, state visits to party stakeholders and leaders across the state.
Nentawe was reported to have arrived Ibadan yesterday, with some media reports that the party chairman was shrouded from receiving him at the airport. Analysts said he was supposed to be welcomed by the state party chairman of the APC Alake Adeyemo, but was kept aside as its gubernatorial candidate Sharafa Ali was said to have stood for introducing the party leaders in the state, in lieu of Alake.
Folarin, Buhari and Adelabu were said to have left Ibadan few days ago, in order to avoid being ambushed by the visit, since their followers still insists on bringing sanctity to the playground, after the primary election was controversially decided.
At the commissioning of the campaign office today, followers of these major gladiators were also said to have ignored the invitation to grace the event, even though the party did not send mobilization notice to the party at the local level.
