Former house of representatives member, who represented Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North federal constituency in the Ninth Assembly Hon. (Dr) Muraina Saubana Ajibola has picked up the expression of interests and nomination forms under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking with Ibarapadailynews reporters in Igboora-his hometown, Muraina attributed his decision to retrun to the green chamber after series of calls and persuasion from community leaders, party faithfuls, and his constituents to re-contest the seat in order to sustain the good legacies he laid during his days in the chambers.
Muraina- a veteran and politician emeritus as proclaimed by his political associates was a three-term lawmaker who represented the federal constituency between 2007-2011, 2011-2015 and 2019-2023 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ha been adjudged as the most performing and longest serving lawmaker in the constituency since the return of democracy in 1999. He served as Chairman house committee on power (2007/2011) and chairman house committee on petroleum upstream (2011/2015). During these period, he facilitated not only the deployment of facilities for the installation of 133kv power transmission stations in Igboora and Igangan but also facilitated job opportunities for gradutes in his constituency at the Energy Commission Nigeria (ECN), Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), and National Environmental Standards and Regulations Agency (NESREA) among others. Apart from these, he has the highest record of infrastructure facilitation across various locations in the constituency ranging from about a hundred (100) solar powered boreholes in towns and villages, and construction and renovation of blocks of classrooms across public secondary schools between Igboora and Igangan.
All things being equal, his projection as the likely candidate of the APC in the next year election will make history as the only lawmaker in the region, if not the state who represented the constituency in the green chamber from two different political parties. He has also been projected as a potential member of the green chamber leadership, if he eventually clinched the ticket and win the much anticipated election next year.
