Barely last minute change of plans, the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to officially publish the names of its candidates in the coming days.
According to an insider from the party secretariat, having handed over the certificate of return to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s presidential flagbearer in the next year presidential election, all is now set as the party is ready to publish the names of the party’s candidates for the 109 senatorial districts and the 360 candidates of the house of representatives, that will feature in the next years general elections.
When asked about the governorship and state assemblies candidates list, the source ascertained that the lists for the states where governorship and state assembly election will hold has been concluded, excluding the earlier published states where governorship election will be conducted later this year.
Ibarapa daily news reliably gathered that the list was compiled after careful examination of the primaries results and critical evaluation of aspirants who emerged through the process. The party has deemed it fit to follow the results and also present candidates with experience and electoral strenght which the party believe and is convinced of possibility of winning elections, but not just appeared on the ballot.
The list will be forwarded to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after it has been communicated to the states party secretariat, and published on national dailies.
